Freon Items that have been purged and tagged by a licensed technician will be purchased from you at our Scrap Steel rate.
Items containing freon, we will charge $75 per item.
This fee covers the costs associated with having the freon reclaimed by a licensed technician and disposed of safely and in an environmentally responsible manner. The $75 cost will be deducted from the total steel purchase paid to you.
Items typically containing freon are fridges, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, water coolers and ice makers to name a few. If you are unsure, please ask the scale operator.
